Removable Partial Denture

For some patients who may not be suitable candidates for a fixed dental bridge or implant, a Removable Partial Denture (RPD) could be a suitable alternative. RPDs are designed to be worn during the day, allowing you to eat comfortably and flash a confident smile. At night, you can easily remove the RPD for cleaning, giving your mouth a break from wearing it.

There are several options of RPD's to choose from. The first type of RPD is made out of metal and uses metal clasps to hold it in your mouth. They’re stronger, better to eat with, and are much easier to adjust if it needs to be tightened, or if a tooth needs to be added at a later date.The second type is made out of a flexible material and is mainly used in the front of the mouth for aesthetic purposes. In certain situations, a combination of both metal and flexible RPDs may be used.
